I have these reeds in my 400cc Xplorer and noticed that one of the pettles are a little brittle. They have not been installed more than 8 or 9 months and im wondering if I need to replace the whole reed cage or can I buy replacement pettles? If so,can someone give me the phone number to order them?I paid 150 bucks for these and am not impressed in the least amount.Im thinking about maybe re-installing my stock reed cage?

I knw you can get just the petals for a Boyesen reed cage, but don't know about the v-force.
Which ones does Ritter handle?

If he doesn't have them, you can get just the reed petals through Aaen performance.
The part for just the petals is ACA30029, and should run around $40 or so, if memory serves me well. (I have the parts book, but not a current price listing.)

Aaen's phone is 262-552-8981 Mon-Fri

Hi Bill, Well I have to tell you that after market reeds cost me a new piston do to a reed that BROKE only a few hours after installation this was on a pwc but regardless I would never go to after market reed again. Even though this was not an atv , it was still a twin two stroke 780cc and I was mad because of the hype everyone was saying about reeds, never again, luckily it was a twin and and that one cyl got me back to shore, good luck...

The V-force reeds won't give you any seat of the pants satisfaction unless you have some other mods to enhance the airflow. Yes, the petals are replaceable. One of the best ways to avoid any damage to the petals buy the $19.95 reed spacer. If you opt for a pipe, and some trailporting, that reed mod will pay off. By the way don't forget the K&N and an airbox mod.

Ken,
I have a Wiseco piston,High Compression head,a PSI pipe,a KN air filter,Delta V-Force w/spacer kit,and a Heel Clickers clutch kit.Im running a 38 tooth rear sprocket and I have a RcR airbox mod.

Toby,
in the summer when the ground is dry and very dusty,I use the Uni-filter.In the winter months when the ground is not dusty,I dont mind using the KN filter.I do not trust a KN for real dusty conditions.
