I used to ride bikes exclusively, but for the farm, we had to get an ATV. We started with a 3-wheeler (yea, I am that old). To be honest, by the time I got my Xpress, I drove it 10 times for every time I rode the bike, and even then I just took the bike out to keep it running good.
I see you live in Illinois. I don't know how much snow you get where you are, but a bike ia truly miserable to ride in snow, or on frozen ground when it is above 30 & the sun shines, or 40 when it is cloudy. Compare it to riding a bike on a hockey rink.
However, if you want to ride FAST, and jump, there is no comparason. The bike is the best at that, especially considering you would be going from a 325 (not noted for speed) to a 2 cycle motocross machine.

If you're taking about racing on MX tracks one thing to consider is that if you get serious about MX racing you will probably mod your bike to the point that it would be more suited to the MX track than trail riding.
You're also switching from a 4 stroke gas & go machine to a 2 stroke machine with it's fair share of maintenance. Has the CR been rebuilt yet? A small displacement 2 stroke like a 125 needs the top end redone pretty frequently, especially if you're racing.
The CR is great if you want to jump but you need to be committed to doing the maintenance that comes with a dirt bike. Fork seals, crank seals, sprockets, clutch & brake levers when you dump it, it can get expensive. Not trying to discourage you, just keep it all in mind.
