99 sc500 makes popping noise and chain will loosen or tighten

99 sc500 makes popping noise and chain will loosen or tighten

What else could it be? I just put on a new chain and sprockets and get the same problem a loud popping noise when i take off hard. If i ease into the throttle its fine..
Can it be the tranny gears?

bearings or bushing in the swingarm?

Please help.

old thread but anyone have an idea. im having the same problem on my 98 xplorer ever since i put on a bigger tire. only went one size bigger and the lugs are not rubbing.

it only does it if im really hard on it.
