Need advice on aftermarket pipe
#1
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I would like to ask if anyone has replaced the pipe on there SPORTSMAN 500 H.O. with a aftermarket set-up and how did it work out for you or A friend if you know someone that did. I called HOTSEAT PERFORMANCE today and was told that the pipe that they offered for the 2001 & 2002 SPORTSMAN 500 H.O. is being re-worked to make it quieter than the pipe they offered before and will be ready to re-lease to the public in about A month.Any suggestions or disappointments about A pipe set up would be appreciated.

Knew that was coming. LOL

Very poor fit of header pipe. It was installed by hot seat and after their fix(LOL) it rubbed the swaybar and gouged the muffler!!!

Way too loud with very little power gain.

I had a backfire about a month ago(jetted rich for the winter). It about blew the endcap off and shattered the inner finned baffle. I had to gut the pipe in the middle of a 130 mile trail ride. I can see why they are redoing the POS.

MAN,thanks for the info you are proably right when you said no wounder they are re-working the pipe it is apparent buy your reply why they are doing so with all the prpblems you described with your pipe with the fit, quality, and loudness I think I will stay clear until I see some postive feedback after HOT SEAT attempts to fix it.
