Hey folks just picked up a 01 trail boss brand new 2 things that dont seem right 1st i have to keep adusting the idle the dealer tells me this is normal until broke in?? 2nd when she is good and warmed up and i hit the gas it studers for a second and then off it goes.. wrong pilot jet ??

 

A few ideas :

Mixture screw set wrong

Dirt in the pilot jet

Choke does not have enough slack

The machine should idle perfect within 10 minutes of running time right out of the box .

 

If you mean you have to re-adjust the idle because it speeds up, it is normal. Mine was hard to keep idling right. I don't remember how long it took for sure but 2 tanks probably isn't far off. I also found it got faster during that time as well. We compared it to another machine which at first could pull away from it but after it was broken in it was faster than the other machine. Can't help with the studder problem.
