Well I saved up my spare change in a can and cashed it in and had enough to buy an HPD Nickel Trail pipe and a clutch kit. My RCR midrange pipe makes good power, but can't put the stock muffler on it when I need to make less noise.

I placed my order about a month ago. They told me they were out of stock of the Nickel trail pipes and would be getting more in soon. Well two weeks went by and nothing happend. So I gave them a call. They told the pipes would be in next week.

I have called HPD once a week for 2 weeks since then and I get the same BS, the pipes will be in next week. Next week comes and no pipes on my front door. Finally I left a somewhat pissed off message on their answering machine. One hour latter a kind-sounding lady calls me to say what I already know-the pipes are not in yet, should be getting them soon.

Now they are going to call me when they come in. It kinda makes me wonder....who makes the HPD pipes anyway and why are they so damn slow?

It also sounds like I am not the only one. I am on a list of like 5 people waiting for their pipes to come in too.

Just thought I would sare my frustration.......

The nice sounding lady was Sue, mrs hpd, she does the ordering shipping etc, a great person,

yes, somebody else makes the hpd pipes, when they are behind hpd has no control over it, i got the black trail pipe, you cant see much of it anyway. the backlog on the nickle stuff is normal, everybody wants the nickle pipes.

I have been their when they have got shipments of stuff like pipes in, they get lots, and they are gone right away, stuff like this happens, you could get a black pipe and get it coated what ever color you want or run it black but leaving a somewhat pissed off message isnt going to get you better service especially when they dont have any control over it, I am sure they are frustrated also.

Good call man. What pissed me off is when I called them I got I differnet guy each time and they told me it would be in next week. Next week came and I got the same story from someone else.

Sue was up-front with me and told me it would still be awhile and she would call me when the pipes came in.

I guess waiting is part of life. Smile!!

Adam, sometimes the waiting can be frustrating. When you get to see the whole HPD picture, there is always a bee-hive of activity. Heck, just the jig for the new race-pipe is something to see. They are also very busy this time of year building this coming seasons shocks. Once you get your pipe (and the plating looks SWEEEET) you'll be happy you waited.

You can always get the black one, strip off the paint, and have a local plating company plate it for you...saving some money!! I plated my pipe at work!!! My MX 400 Sport

Adam,

Who sold you your RCR kit?......uh hum?

Should have asked that same fellow about the HPD pipe (my fault, I have'nt been around in a while). I think he has one in the garage (nickel plated) w/ no more than 15 hours on it.........practically new. I went to the race pipe. Anyone interested?

Thanks,

EC

Thats OK EC, I have been planning on going to HPD for some time now. The RCR kit is still on and works just fine. I mainly switched to HPD so I can put my stock muffler to be quieter when I need to. Planning on re-using the RCR muffler it sounds good. Got the clutch kit coming too.

RCR pipe and clutch spring will most likley get passed on to a riding friend.

The RCR Stage 1 Kit does a good job of providing more power for less cost. It also makes you addicated to wanting more mods/power!! Adam
