Problems with HPDs 250 reed convertion?
#1
I am having a problem with the carb rubbing on the side of the tranz case. And was wondering if any one else is having this problem. And have messed up a carb allready. This is not good and getting even more expensive. My sons quad is a 2000 trailblazer. I would like know before I call again. I was one of the first that came out. and wondered if they might have changed it.

Yes mine did the same thing when I first got it. The problem is
with the manifold to carb adapter. Its just a fuzz too big.
Darrell offered to make me a new one but I didn't want to
wait for it. I wanted to get a little seat time in before winter.
So, I took a belt sander to it. That along with a little
filing off of the corner part of the tranny took care of the
problem!
How does your son like it now that it has the reed kit?

He loves it. I had it re ported to a race porting by some else. Before I put it on and it will beat piped and clutch 400'S. It pulls wheeles in the sand with 21x12x8 8 paddle haulers. That was a surprize to alot of people. It is fun to dune with because it is so much lighter than my 400.

I've had mine installed since last Nov. and I don't know
of anybody else connected with the ATV Connection forums
who has one. I feel that the reed kit is a good up grade
for those of us who already have a TB and want to add
more power. For most people its kind of a pricey mod for
just an intro or beginners quad. Even if HPD sells 100-200
of these kits a year country wide. The chances of you coming
across someone who had one would be remote.
There are several individuals connected with this forum who
have expressed some interest with the kit but so far you are
the only other person that I know of who has one installed.
I will continue to report any news good or bad to this forum
about the reed convertion kit. I hope that you will do the same!
