Sport Quad Update!
#1
The owner of the Mr. Motorcycle dealer told me that a Polaris rep. came in yesterday and the owner asked about the new polaris. Iim not supposed to be telling you the little that i know but i will spare you from guessing. It is a aluminum frame maunual for sure!!! Possably with a automatic option. The enigine size was iffy. But he says it is really fast!!!

If we don't know what the engine size is, how can we know it's fast? If the guy said it's an aluminum frame, he ought to know what motor is in it.
Got to be the 500. Why create a new motor.
If the 700 would fit...... hmmm, dreaming.

Yah right. I doubt it. I bet they say come right in at 385 with a 500 cc motor in it.
The manual clutch will take off a lot of weight. Aluminum rims will kill off 30 more lbs and the frame will take off 75 more at least.
Hopefully they lower the CG and get the double wishbone thing going so the kick a craptors *** in the corners.

I still think Polaris is taking so long because they can't figure out how to work in floorboards and the single lever braking. The day I believe of a true Polaris sport quad is the day I see one. It will have to have an all new frame, engine, and transmission. Nothing Polaris currently has in production could be considered on a true sport machine-besides maybe the 400 2 stroke engine. I was a Polaris diehard for many years, but had to jump ship when I wanted a true sport quad. After riding a DS650 for 6 months, I know Polaris has a LOT to improve on to even be remotely competitive with the other sport machines. Engine, suspension, frame, tires, brakes, need improvement. If Polaris could incorporate their automatic clutch into a true sport machine, I would definitely be in the market for a new machine. Of course, they'd have to use a roller clutch to eliminate the lag time. If they can do it on snowmobiles, why not on ATV's? Like I said, I'll believe it when I see it. Even if it does come out, I'd guess a pricetag of at least $7,000 for their "new technology". It better be good for that kind of money.
