Chris, what makes you say they are mainly selling Scrambler 400's? Around here, I see almost even Scrambler 500/Sport 400 with slight edge to 500, then a few Scrambler 400. When I say "around here" it is all the various places I ride in Texas, whether mud, track, trail, or sand. But I guess it varies everywhere.

I just got back from my dealer. (Picked up a Trailblazer for my beginner rider stable for $3200)
I offered him a deposit on this unknown machine.
He said:
All the Polaris folks are at Daytona. No chance of some big announcement until late March, but he did not think there was any truth to this thread. (He said he wouldn't take my deposit but would promise me first dibs after an "announcement" was made, if it was made)

Yes tommoro is wed i am going to double check with hr to see if i can say what it is. They told me wed so if they say go for it the beens will be spilled. And if they say no i won,t. I can not put myself in a spot where i can lose my job as they take confidentiality very seriously. As for those who don,t belive polaris is coming out with new products well they will be out of luck as for me mine is up for sale so that should say something.

Adam I agree with you the 500's are getting more popular but i was actually refering to the 98 400's both sport and scrambler which would reflect the revenue statements from last year. I forgot about the trailblazer . I assume that those bikes made up the bulk of their sport sales since i see very few 98 500's around. The two dealers near me don't even have 500's on the floor because they say that they don't sell like the 400's ( 2x4 or 4x4 )or utility quads for that matter.
88Blaster - You are right, Polaris is not going to leave any stone unturned, 2wd, 4wd, 6wd, diesel....they've almost got it all. Most people can't understand why they would make a scrambler 500 2x4 but i see it as an opportunity to produce yet another product without having to design one. I wouldn't be suprised if we see a trailblazer 300 aircooled 4 stroke or something like that next year or so. A larger 2 stroke or twin is not all out of the question but probably unlikely.

Looks like Dirt Wheels has heard some of the same rumors we're hearing. I hope they're right about something in the range of the DS650.

jaime please let us know either way. I am really hoping that it will be good news. In my opinion if Polaris does not develope a hi-performance ATV they are missing a great opportunity. I mean look at all the publicity Honda has received with their 400EX and Bombardier's DS650. I think Yamaha and Kawaski are both developing hi-performance ATVs. Just my two cents worth.
