has anyone else had this problem with a scrambler 500 4x4

 

I have the same problem with my magnum 500 but after i ride it for a little bit it stops so i dunno what to do

 

one of my customers brought his 01 500 sportsman in and asked me to listen to it .it had a deep knocking noise coming from the crankcase,he took it to the dealer with 75 miles on it and complained they told him to ride it for 500 miles and if it still did it bring it back.when i listened to it it had almost 500 on it.anyway he took it back and they ended up putting a new crank and rod in it.hope this helps

 

My 01 H.O. has over 200 hrs on it and has been making that noise since bought new 12/12/00.It worried me at first so I took it back.Dealer mechanic said it was nature of oil&water pump combo to be noisy.So what could I do but ride it and hope for the best.Noise no longer worries me but sure makes it sound trashy.It also runs just as good now as it did new.
