I'm considering installing a set of 27" Mud Bug after-market tires on my SP HO. Talking about it to one of my local dealers the other day he mentioned I would need new wider rims. He said that with the extra width the tire would have a tendency to pop off the original rim when bumping over logs etc. I'm sure lots of riders on the forum have done this. Is it a problem or is he full of it?

im running a set of 12.50 inch wide tires on my stock trailblazer rims which are only made for 11's and i race cross country so as far as i can see there shouldnt be any problems or i would have run across them but dont quote me on that, thats just from my experience there may be people that have had that problem but i have had no troubles
