Starting Sportsman 335
#1
I had a hard time starting my '99 Sportsman 335 after 6 months of storage. Here's what I did to try to get it started: drained tank, filled with fresh gas, checked spark plug (lots of spark), swapped plug into my other machine (started right away), fully charged battery.
Finally, I look the air cleaner off (filter was clean) at the carb. and it started right up. Put the air cleaner back together. Now it starts every time if I use it often.
The same thing happened at the beginning of last year. What's going on? What can I do to fix it?
Really Confused,
Maverick

Have you been using a fuel stablizer like stabil or sea foam? Have you shut off your fuel valve? Gas today is cooked / refined so much that it doesn't keep very long. Swapping your plug makes me wonder if your fuel is leaking and fouling your plug right away. Did you oil level change? Do you smell gas in the oil?
Lots of things it could be....
