Got whooped by Recon
#1
Well on sunday afternoon I lost a sand drag race to a recon. It all started as a 10 year old boy challenged me to race up the hill, so I accepted. I started off by letting him pull ahead until he got a ways in front of me. Then as I pegged the throttle to claim my "easy victory" i could get no traction and just spun out on the dune. I watched as the recon bogged down on the incline and still beat me. The young fella did not gloat, just smilled like he was on top of the world every time we passed thru out the day.Although I intended to make the race fair, I never intended on losing. But it was worth the joyful look on his face. Any good stories out there on your underestimation of the competetion or overestimation of your ride?

I haven't had that problem on quads, but I have on sleds so I deffinatly know what you mean.
Can you imagine how I felt when my Mach Z 800 got beat by a 1980 Moto-ski Mirage 377?
Now I only race on hard packed snow

I wish I had the money to do some more tweaking, but with income taxes, college tuition, and auto insurance this month, I'll be lucky to fill up the gas tank. Thats why I like riding,so i can leave the responsibilities for a while.
