in cold weather it will cause the tires to go out of balance because it all settles in one spot and cause the quad to shake but it will go away after the tires warm up so do not panic.

SWAC,

I agree with the last poster about the slime stiffening in the cold and throwing the wheels out of balance.

A couple of years ago we removed the slime from the Honda 4-Trax for this reason. The guys down south don't have this problem!

My experience with this stuff in cars was nothing but bad. At highway speeds it can really mess with the wheel balance. You balance the wheels, the slime moves, so much for the balance!

Just saw the slime at our local farm and fleet store for $3.99 for 8oz and $8.00 for 16oz. the bottles said use 16 to 20oz for atv tires.

Differing opinions on this slime stuff. Is this the same kind of stuff they use in them Uniroyal ads on tv where the SUV drives over the nails sticking out of a board? I don't want to get into any vibration or imbalancing problems. Maybe I'll wait until the summer when I have more of a consistent outside temperature to keep the slime fluid and watery. Sure can see where it would be a saviour in the event of a puncture!

Talked to a service station guy who said he refuses to fix atv tires with that 'stuff' in them. Too messy. Has anybody tried going to tubes?
