Lifted my Xplorer 400 up High

Ryan, WHEN he gets stuck we'll have to get a truck or two down there. Especially if he gets that ferris-wheel of a rear axle buried. We'll all have a good laugh. That thing reminds me of Freddie Krueger.
Walexa, we found you some good test holes down here on the creek. The first thing old Charles did with your old tires was get STUCK. The bad thing about it was that I got buried up at the same time in another hole. I finally winched myself out then went over there and saved him. There is no bottom down there. Tomorrow I'll go look for my flip-flop.

I think your explorer it awsome great work, awsome idea's I have already started my lift, just wondering about how you extended the a-arms and did you cut out any of you stut housing to prevent rub. I just lifted my 01 exploer 3.5 inches and when I was done it look high but wheels were not staight, but I think it is because the a-armes need to be extended, any idea's? Even horse power tips , right now I have reeds, jet down, clutch kit, high compression head on the way, maybe pipe. I just put new cv joints in there called monster axles, and welding ,fabrication is what I am good at so let you idea's flow, your quad will be my screen saver for awhile. It really is awsome!

Anyway, gorilla axle now sells a kit very similar in function to the lift I built. You should be able to find all the information you need by googling gorilla axle.
I did have to grind a fair amount of the strut off at the bottom to allow for clearance........but not enough to lose the bottom strut bolt. It helps to go to scrambler shocks in the front..........get some spring spacers, extend tie rods, possibly brake lines. For power, the high compression head is great. I never went with a pipe because I would rather be seen......not heard a mile away. Thanks for the compliments. I still have the quad........it hasn't been ridden in over a year right now. I need to get back into riding.........but everything is so busy right now. Post back if you have any specific questions.

Hey I'm new to this forum thing, I'm just a guy who likes to get muddy, I've got a '99 Xplorer 400, over 13,000 mi. most in heavy mud and swamp. I burnt the piston last year, now I'm 40 over, got a K&N filter, Hot Seat Performance pipe, Hot seat clutch kit, high lifter 3" lift, and 27" Dirt Devil XT's. I still had to redrill the floorboards and move them back so the front tires wouldn't hit on big bumps. I'm no pro, just like to play.
