Hi All,

My father purchased a 2001 Sportsman 400 (used) a couple of weeks ago.

He was giving the kids rids on it this weekend and whenever he would turn you could hear a clicking noise coming from underneath. It sounded like it was coming from the back end, but it was really hard to tell.

I did a search in these forums, and I found where a couple of users said that they had the same problems, and others suggested it could be loose brakes. They suggested trying to hold the brakes in a little bit when you hear the noise, and if it goes away it confirms that it is the brakes. Anyway, he held the brake lever down a little bit when he heard the noise, but it did not go away.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

-Josh

Sounds like it might be the Cv Joint, they make a distinctive click when worn or gone bad.
