Piping a '95 Xplorer
#1
I know this topic has been discussed a few times, but I am interested in piping my 95 Xplorer 400 4X4. Just how much louder are the high performance pipes? Alot of my friends are starting to pick up 660's and 700's and I would like to try and stay with them. I've also been told to put on a new K & N filter and change the primary spring to a white spring. Any other ideas for cheap mods? Are the pipes worth it? If I do all three mods, do I need to beef up anything else?
Thanks.......
Thanks.......

I have a 96 400 Sportsman and the way it is set up it will hang with all the big bores and out do some. All I have done is put on an Aaen torquer pipe and silencer(not much louder than stock)jetted the carb,Uni filter,And went with a green polaris primary spring and a blue Aaen secondary spring.I have a white spring in my 425 but it didnt engage high enough to make a real differance on the 400.Hope this helps you I am very impressed with the way mine runs.

I have a 98 Xplorer with a green primary and a K&N and it did wake it up the thortle respones has improved. I can pull the front end up in high gear now. In a drag race you might have trouble with the 650's and 700's but in shorter races you should keep with them.
