Hey, I'm an owner of a Explorer 300 4x4 and have enjoyed it. Although a good friend of mine has purchased a 325 with continuing problems. The first weekend the oil line to the filter came off losing about 1/2 qt. of oil. The following weekend the motor started running bad, so we looked around and found about a 1/2 qt. of oil in the air box and the air filter totally saturated. We drained the oil out of the air box and pulled the filter off to get the atv home. It ran excellent except for one episode of blue smoke for about 3 mins. He took it back to the dealer who could find nothing wrong. Today ,while riding it spit off the hose going to the oil cooler 3 times. Correct me if I'm wrong guys , but it sounds to me like some kind of oil pressure problem. Sure would like some feed back. Thanks

How is the oil line attached to the fitting.. I would replace the fitting and the hose. If its clamped onto a "hose nipple" and it blew off at one point. More than likely the inside walls of the hose end are damaged and will never seal securely.
As for the oil in the airbox.. Polaris 4-strokes seem to just do that sometimes.. Sometimes its because the oil level is too high.. othertimes its because the machine has been on a steep uphill or downhill. (or upside down!!) Other times, they just let a little oil up thru the crankcase breather.. either way, it doesn't seem to hurt them.. Just don't run it without the air filter too much.. that WILL hurt it.. Change to a K&N filter so that if it spits out more oil, it won't clog the filter...

I have a 00 trailboss 325 too. Just sunday my oil hose came off after about 10 min of riding after i had just tightend it. I am going to get a real hose clamp for it, not the spring kind it doesnt seem to get the job done. My hose seems to be a little short but i think i can get it far enough up. I am not too pleased with polaris right now.

Thanks for the reply guys. I'm glad to hear that this isn't an isolated incident. I'll have to tell him not to climb too steep of hills. ha! I agree with the thought of the k&n filter. The hose clamp will probably solve some of the small leaks that have come about. Just to let you know, He took it back to the dealer today, He isn't the most mechanically inclined and really depends on a flawless machine. The Dealer said they would do whatever it takes to make him happy. Now he is looking at the Explorer 400 4x4 , Any comments on this particular machine........
