Rincon vs Sp700

I will start by saying the most important thing is to buy the quad that best fits you needs. Debating about which quad is the best is hopeless, because someone else will have a different opinion.
Now it was posted a while back about the rear brakes on the big 3 trucks, I looked at all 3 before I bought my 02 F150 Supercrew (Because it fit my needs the best) and all 3 have disc brakes in the rear. In fact Ford and Chevy half tons have had them since 99. Now I am talking about the extended cab/4 door models...It may be possible that some of the low end work trucks don't yet have disc brakes in the rear. Now for the reason that brakes are put on any vehicle.. is for their ability to stop the vehicle.
Manic, your are getting comments made about your age is because of your posts...Don't post comments like a 12 year old would. I have seen in this forum where people have asked Tech questions about their machines and you have jumped in with "buy a Honda", now that doesn't help anyone out. Also you said in 2 posts that you have taken apart many automotive transmisions, but yet you post that a torque converter is like a wheel... Yes maybe in appearance, but using that thinking one could say that a automotive transimison is like a ice cream cone... becaues that is what it looks like???? What a torque converter is a hydraulic pump. I not rippin on ya manic, just trying to help ya out a bit.
I will end with I have never had any trouble with my Polaris and a never had any trouble with the old Honda ATCs I owned in the past, The most important thing is that you are happy with the quad you bought. Now lets get out and go riding...I am not picky, what ever brand you have will do fine, I am sure we will have fun. Good Luck!!

Good point. Exactly what I used to tell people when they asked why in the world I bought an Arctic Cat.
Bottom line, the only one you need to satisfy is yourself. But of course it is fun to have others drool at your toys from time to time, but hey, its all in good fun. My Grizzly is probably the baddest quad around here in the land of honda 300's. Still, almost any of the quads you see in Highlifter Readers Rides puts my quad to shame.

Trust me I would kill for a Grizzly, But we are comparing apples to ornages here. You cant logicaly compare a Grizzly 660 to a Rubicon 500, Now I understand its ride isnt the greatest, but it rides very good, Im not going to compare it to an independent rear suspension though. I have noticed with Independent suspensions the fourwheeler feels sort of tippy. But anyway. Im telling you what I believe. And yes I was talking about appearence for a Torque converter, It doesnt work like a wheel, definetely. But anyway, Rip me a new one if you want, Im telling you facts.

Hmmmmm....same MSRP...both 4x4....both automatic....both the biggest cc engines the manufacturer makes....both the flagship 4x4's for their manufacturers....
They may be from different trees...but the sure sound like the same fruit to me. (Is it just me or does that not sound right?)
Anyway, you can't compare the Rubicon to the Grizzly, and you can't compare the Rincon to the Grizzly, and in the other forums they are saying you can't compare the 400ex to the new Suzuki, and you can't compare it to a Raptor or a Cannondale, and this and that and this and that.
It's beginning to look like the only quads you can compare the Hondas to are out dated ones with smaller engines.

Hey Maniac, I just thought I would let you in on a little secret. The rubi is not a very good pulling machine as far as the weight sled is concerned. I happen to own a sled and have had about 8 pulls so far and yet to see a rubicon win yet although there have been about three guys who have tried each event. I don't want to bash your machine but it just isn't that good of puller. Yes I do ride a Polaris and yes my little 400SP has out pulled a rubi. To bad you don't live closer cause I'll plan on out pullling one again on memorial day. Keep checking the webpage I'll post the results and I'm sure Polaris will be at the top of most classes like it always is. Here is the link.

I sell Honda's and yet I still wont buy one?I was THINKING about buying the new Rincon because I can buy one for about 6300 and I like the sound of its new tranny vs belts, however,Honda is still using old style drum brakes in the front of this quad[I like to mud] and still does not have a locker mode, what a waste of R+D on this machine.I like everything about the new 660 Grizz except for the fact that it is belt driven.Except for the tranny on the Ruby,it has NOTHING over the new Grizz!

While I like my Grizzly better (for different reasons), I will say that the Rubicon I rode steered very well and had a very smooth ride. A drastic improvement in both areas over a 450. It was night and day.
The 450's I have ridden all had stock tires. The Rubicon I rode had 589's. You would think the 589's would hurt the ride, but it still rode better than the 450, even with the lug tires.
