A small percentage of ATV riders put their ATV's through the biggest deepest mud hole they can find. It reminds me of the show where they spend all day winching their ATV's up a rock cliff, or pull a "sled across a dirt road. What is the purpose of that? What does that prove. Does it make it last longer, ride better, start better? Oh well, don't understand.

The thing that irritates everyone is that Honda has the best selling ATV's in the world, 32.7% of the market in 2001 in the US alone. Polaris took second in sales, that means Polaris is the 1st looser and all the others are 3rd, 4th, 5th and so on loosers.

I usually don't bash but I have a hard time with 2nd place people claiming "only if" we would be #1, but you are #2 or worse.

Honda builds their ATV's the way they do because the majority of the buying market like them more than they like the others. The other manufactures do not have the ability to build anything that will even compare to technology or longevity of a Honda, that is why they are number one.

Why someone thinks that their machine is better than mine is hard to understand. Their might be better at one thing than mine but there will be something else that mine is better at than theirs, does that make mine better than theirs? No.

If two ATV's stop in the same distance, does that make one of them have a better braking system that the other? No.

I totally enjoy the ATV I purchased and will for a long time and I hope you do to.

So far only 1700 miles and 190 hours, no problems.

We are fortunate to have so many choices out there to pick from, namely: Arctic Cat, Bombardier, Honda, Kawasaki, Polaris, Suzuki, Yamaha. Just buy whatever you feel comfortable on, and what features you prefer. There are many great quads out there as of late, and it is making it very tough for me to decide which one I will be buying in a month or so!

Odin,

Will this new sp600 be based on the HO chassis or sp700 one?? also have you heard any changes to the sp700 for 2003?? I would hope polaris would upgrade the engine in the sp700, if they are going to build a sp600. The power difference between the two would be very small, so most likly everyone would buy the sp700.

P.S. can you update you e-mail in your profile.

later

I'd like to know where he came up with that definition for a Limited Slip.." transfers the power from the wheel that slips to the wheel that grips??" HA! A regular ol' clutch type L/S Doesn't really work like that holmes. There is only so much force a clutch-type L/S can apply, before that unweighted tire(the one off the ground or in the sloppy stuff) starts spinning by its lonesome.. A LOCKING diff is unbeatable off-road, period. (by the way, this is coming from automotive experience, I guess its possible quads are different somehow....)

Some guys get a little testy and tend to lash out when they are insecure with the machines the operate. I guess that is their choice. I just recently got rid of my foreman in favor of a Polaris. Why? I was tired of being pulled out by Polaris'. Where I ride, there is alot of muskeg and mud and I was tired of dropping one front wheel into a hole and sitting there spinning my rear wheels and watching the front wheel in the air spin all the while not going anywhere. As for a rubicon, I haven't had one but I had to do repairs to the Honda as well. Maybe it was slightly more reliable, but if you like riding a lumber wagon.........

I am not going to elaborate too much on what I heard on the VIP tour with Polaris. They know who I am, and the many friends I ride with at the factory. Wait and see...

Maniac,

Your a 10 post rookie. Your input on a Polaris forum means nothing. Until you go out and win something besides being a fourm clown and a hater of other atv makes besides Honda your input will mean nothing.

Polaris dominates the atv pull circut. In fact Polaris kicked so much A$$ they outlawed them. Polaris invented the auto class atv pull and auto class mud run because Honda owners protested because they got their A$$ kicked every time they lined up. So cry me a river cupcake.

Your a loser period.

Im with 3TV. Some 4x4 owners just want a machine that will do some 4x4ing and good fun trail riding. For what and where I ride my Scrambler would go pretty much where ever I aimed it, the 650 Praire was just an upgrade to that.

As far as reliability issues, there arent any. Neither machine has let me down as of yet. Of course the Scram has alot more hours on it.

Have to agree with Mike, the Rincon will probably walk away with all the Mags honors. But anyone that knows ATVs will realize that the Rincon is not up to todays standards as far as features go. But hey 3wd ATVs made everyone VERY happy for quite a long while. For alot of riders thats all they need.

Maniac, I was a bit confused with your theory on how limited slip actually works? Heres mine.
Wheel without traction= wheel spinning wildly accomplishing nothing.

Maniac, your embarrasing yourself! Please stop before you completely discredit yourself. As a previous Rubicon owner, now SP500 owner, I can assure you that you know not of what you speak. Hush up now before it's too late.
