new Sportsman 500 grinds when shifting sometimes ..If you try to easy it into gear it grinds but if you give it a quick shift it doesn't do it as much...is this normal...thanks

Sounds like you need to lower the idle speed a little. If your machine idles to fast it will be difficult to change gears.

Normal. Just push into gear and do not force and things will work better.

Like said above, reduce the idle speed. Theres a easy to reach adjustment. Mine did the same. I've seen many Polaris machines come from dealers wiht very high idles and the same problem.
