xplorer400 or scrambler 500, who's the fastest?
#4
The Xplorer is 608 lbs vs 481 for the Scrambler 400. That's a 21% weight differential, making the Scrambler at least 21% faster. The 400 and 500 Scrambler run about the same speed stock, but just a little modification makes the 400 very quick. No way a 500 will keep up when you start modifying. Just ask some guys in here what they've done th their 400's. They will KILL an EX. Most modded EX's can't even come close to a 75 HP Scramlber 400!!

The Scramblers will walk away from an Xplorer, but the difference isn't 21%. You have to add in the weight of the driver for that, but it still will walk away from it.
HOWEVER, the Xplorer has the same basic engine as the Scrambler, and you CAN hop it up to make over 70HP. Like a wise man once said, how fast can you afford to go.
Oh, and now I also hear they are making a 'power valve' version of the 400 cylinder. That will add a few top end HP without sacrificing bottom end, as well.

you want a scrambler 400 2 stroke, put a lil money here and there in to it, and then u can smoke any ex you want, but a stock ex and a stock scrammy 400, the ex would win, but the scrammy is easy to modd, because it is a 2 stroke! unlike the EX wich is a 4 stroke. The 500 scrammy goes about 3 mph. slower than the 400.
