700 Needle Clip Round 2
#1
A little history....
I installed a K&N airfilter and lost midrange. From 1/4 to 3/4 throttle from a stand still, the wheeler would fall flat on it's face. I posted the question as to why and did a little research myself and decided that the needle clip needed to be moved. With the stock air filter back on the machine was strong as normal.
Today I took the carb off and moved the clip down the needle(toward the tapered end). It was in the fourth notch and I moved it down to the fifth(last) notch. Now it really sucks. If you jump on it even a little it nearly quits.
Did I move the clip the wrong way? Is the clip not the issue. I was really careful to make sure the rubber diaphram was seated right. I hate bringing stuff to the shop "in a box" for the professional to "fix".
Additionally, I screwed up the idle. Anybody know what the factory idle is supposed to be.
Thanks for any ideas.
