I always carry spares. Actually I care to much stuff. But anyways, since I've installed the HPD kelvar belt. I've not changed another belt. And I've put this belt through heck. But if your using stock belts. Always have spares.

Changing the belt is easy (at least for the non-ebs one). I have never changed the belt on my TB, but I have removed it before. All I had to do was remove the clutch cover and then slowly pry the belt off the pulleys. Was really easy. No tools other then to get the cover off.

Well LURCH said it.
Just take the cover off.

Do not pry on the belt with a prybar or screw driver, It could Damage it and cause Premature wear, Also do not pry on Cluch for the same reasons.

You should be able to walk it off the Rear Driven clutch BY HAND with the bike in NEUTRAL.

Same thing going on, Slip it on the Frt aand Walk it on to the Rear, NO TOOLS OR PRY BAR NEEDED.

The correct way to keep alaignment and not damage belt is to use parking brake and throw in low gear. now push and rotate inner sheave of secondary, which will open clutch and allowbelt to be slipped off.

I've been wondering about some of these same questions...good post.
I have never had the cover off so I'm not sure what I'll be looking
at when I do, hence this question...Will the "inner sheave of the secondary" be hard to recogize or identify? And is the belt cover sealed with a gasket or silicone? Thanks!!

the inner sheave is the part of the clutch on the far side of the belt. The secondary is the clutch onthe rear. There is a foam(?) gasket, some say replace when you take the cover off some say reuse, it $4, better safe than sorry.
