Desert Sportsman,
without knowing the individual, don't be so critical of his grammar or punctuation. He was simply trying to inform fellow riders of an issue that I have also heard of. One of my co-workers had this happen to his '01 HO. His dealer replaced all parts under warranty. The sequence of events leading up to the clutch exploding is identical to what Wolfy explained. They replaced the belt thinking it was normal wear, and 5 miles later, BOOM, clutch flying everywhere. Through the clutch cover and even out of the air intake for the cover. It sounds as though there was a run of faulty clutches by the manufacturer. I used to be a die-cast operator and made many of the clutch componennts for both the Polaris sleds and the early model ATV's. If conditions aren't monitored, and proper quality measures aren't taken, porosity (gas bubbles) can develop in the metal and cause a catastrophic failure such as this. Luckily, nobody was hurt.

Your right, I was way to critical to expect the correct use our English language. I am sorry......anybody know Spanish??
Just kidding!!
The information regarding the damage to the clutch could be helpful to some. Again many apologies to those offended!!
