Ok, with that in mind, do you want to know how it performs? Me too! I asked them if they would go out and race the other ATV's there - including a Honda 400EX, Yamaha Raptor, and Suzuki Z400.

Drag Races:

The Predator 500 took first every time, beating out even the modified Raptors, by a huge margin. Clearly it was the fastest 4-stroke on the sand that day. How did it do up against the 2-strokes? We couldn't get any 2-strokers to race it! Bummer.

Clear BS, I hope it is faster than a stock Raptor though. The Predator seems awesome!

I can vouch for that , I was riding with Hurycne,Roostinonyou, Dsmike at Little Sahara OK. This past weekend and we were ALL impressed with the new Predator. The Guys that were riding them were pretty cool and they would race anybody and everybody. I would have to say(first hand) that the predator is as fast as the Cannondale Blaze/Moto.(HUGE COMPLIMENT)

I would assume the production version will have different tires and probably a little more tame. Whats sad is, the mag tests will slam the Predator for being a Polaris...BOO!

Most pre-production models aren't "detuned". The question is whether polaris will detune the Predator or leave it as is.

I was thinking the same thing, If Polaris realy wants to make a statement they should sell it in the same set up as it is now.
With full 4 stroke mods (Cams, compression, pipes and such) there are DRZ400 bikes with 50 HP. With 500cc in the same RPM of tune, it would easilly be the fastest production Sport Quad you coud buy. With good handling, that would be hard for the Mags to cut down.

Mega Crash,

Oh, don't you worry. I'm sure the magazines will have something to gripe about. How about the all important "low center of gravity"? Honda always owns this catagory because they build low riders. They could complain about the brakes, the handlebars, the grips, the reliability or some other nonsense. Why? Because they just can't have an American company building better quads than their wonderful buddies, the Japanese.

I don't know. In all the time I have read off road.com, I have never saw then not say it like it is. These guys tell the truth, and would not lie about something.

Well I hope it's true. I would love to see a Polaris stomp a Raptor or a DS 650.

That would be a change that might bring me back to Polaris. When I had my modded Scrambler & got the chance to ride a STOCK DS the Scrambler was history 2 weeks later.
