I thought you were leaving Rincon...or is the Polaris forum just too good to leave. You already told us you were leaving once, we don't need to hear it again.

rincon,
i would like to thank you for totally ruining my post. I posted here because I wanted to have a meaningful, decent conversation about a new sport bike coming out that I wanted to learn about. However you come in here and start yappin on about the rincon and honda, your post had not one single thing that pertained to what i asked about. Can you not read that well? Please start your own thread here if you want to start talking smack about polaris/honda whatever.

Thanks a-million man.

I am having a great time reading about the new Predator. I had just made up my mind that the new Suzuki Z400 was going to be my next quad but now I am really unsure. Man is it ever hard deciding what to buy for my next quad. I started with a Kawasaki Mojave and my last two and present quads are Yamaha Blasters. Not really enough power for me but the Spidertracs help with traction. My son also has a Blaster with a pipe, carbon fiber reeds. Now, back to the subject. I thought that the 400EX was the way to go because of the quality of the product but I really don't like the air-cooled cylinder. Suzuki z400 is water cooled but so is the Raptor with a whopping 650 cc. Now I have to evaluate the Predator. Wow, we sure have a great selection these days.
I know the Cannondale is one great machine but no dealerships nearby so no support.
Well, finally here is my point to this whole discussion and this can be aimed right at Mr. Rincon.
The Predator is MADE IN AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!
This is also an extremely important point in making a decision which quad to buy.
I know I have a couple of rice burning Blasters but I only paid 1200 for each of them so it was a matter of necessity at that point.
So to anyone who has BLIND loyalty to a company in a county that KILLED thousands of Americans is very short-sighted.

Dude,
Polaris has Fuji motors, in other words Japanese produced power. You have got to be kinda off kilter to put out a post like this... Let me get this straight, you sold your soul for a pair of 1200 blasters (dont worry , we all have our price, but mine was for a banshee, so at least my price is higher!). You wont SUPPORT a truly AMERICAN Company (Cannondale) that is producing the best High perf quad out there with every penny staying in America. Yet you rule it out because you feel there is no support, how ironic is that??? You wont support Cannondale, because they have no support! At any rate, good choice, youll still be paying through the nose for inferior products...Unless of course, you buy Made In America!

I stand corrected. Thanks for the info. Now I guess I am going to have to rethink everything. I'll have another look at Cannondales. Thanks.

Razermazer,and Michigan map man,

To answer your questions about the Predator. I had the oppertunity to set on and start one up(they would not let me ride it), and also talk for awhile with the test riders at Little Sahara OK. First the Engine is going to be GREAT! they told us that it was made by Rotax(That is a good thing).Second, the frame, swing arm, axle, spindles,A arms, etc all look very heavy-duty/strong(this is definatley where the extra wieght is coming from). The steering is TOTALLY deferent from any other quad I have seen. It has some kind of linkage system,so to improve the camber when on a berm or dune.

The chassis on the quad is biult low like a C'dale, Even the gas tank is low-profile so the MX rider can maneuver the quad without the tank in his way. Also the FOX shocks on this machine are re-biuldable (f/b).

I'm not saying this Quad is the BE ALL/END ALL of the atv-market. Personally I would'nt trade my DS for it, But it WILL be a SERIOUS competitor for Cannondale, and Yamaha. From talking to the test riders, thats who their going after. Hopes this helps answer you original question(s).

RoostKing

You sold your soul for some imagined tail you might get long before you got your banshee. heh heh heh

To bad you still never got any.

MichiganMapMan

We don't know if this is a FUJI engine or not. Could be a US engine or Austrian if it is made by Rotax. No matter what it is still an American company. An American company that shipped a bunch of quads to help fight in the middle east. That's good enough for me.

razormazor: i didn't ruin your post, if you look back to page 1 of this topic polarispower500 started it all, i have nothing against polaris (although you may see it different) i was just giving him back some of his own medicine. So as for me ruining your post, i don't think so. Mabey it's you that can't read well, cause if you could you would have seen that polarispower500 started it all. I will never start my own thread to talk smack about polaris, that is meaningless and stupid. like i said before i have nothing against polaris, just when people make fun of honda, that reallt ticks me off, they're all good machines. As for MichiganMapMan saying the Predator is made in America, woptidoo, i don't live in America. The motor in the sp700 is made in the USA, it is still made by FUJI, but polaris built the FUJI plant beside there polaris plant purposly for the purpose of building ATV motors for polaris, so really they're made in America, which means nothing to me. I was leaving this post, but every time i left someone had a comment to say to me, so i thought i better clear things up. The sportsman line of quads is nice, I'll give polaris that, but as for their smaller motored quads.... well lets just say they aint class winners. If you know a little about the atv market you'd know that 50% of all atv sales is in the 300-450cc range. so go on and leave this behind us, and talk about the PREDATOR

One question...what kinda drugs are you on? If I understand you correctly, you are saying that Polaris built a Fugi plant next to them, in America, so they would be made in America but made by Fugi which is Japanese? Sorry buddy, every engine that is made in the U.S. in Engineered in the U.S., most of which happens in Roseau, MN.

Sorry to be so rude but you say all this stuff like, "i said before i have nothing against polaris, just when people make fun of honda". Then you turn around and start bashing some other company. Don't you think those people also hate hearing their favorite company being bashed or put down?

what's your problem? Just to set the record streight. All Polaris ATV motors are made in the USA....By Fuji Heavy Industries. The Fuji plant is in Reasseau, Minnasota about 100 yards from the main Polaris plant. Polaris owns and built the Fuji plant specifically for the purpose of building Polaris powerplants. The only exceptions are the 700 which is totally built by Polaris and the minis which are made in Taiwan by AEON. show me one spot in my last post where i make fun or "bash" polaris. one guy was all up tight about buying a quad that was made in USA, which means nothing to me, I don't go around saying i will only buy Bombardier because it's a canadian company, that's what i ment by woptidoo.
