no prob, i hope everyone realizes I'm not AGAINST POLARIS, just when others say stuff about honda, i wouldn't mind having a sportsman. i hope polaris has done their homework cause last year at a local MX race there was a 500 scrambler and it never did one lap in practice, moto 1, or moto2, I'm not making fun of anything, just what happened. mabey the guy abused it, i don't know. but i know that a MX quad takes one heII of a punishment, and i hope polaris did it right

now that word is out that the motor in the Predator is a Rotax, who's to say that this new machine isn't the new Bombardier? Could it be they are trying anything they can to sway everyone's belief that it's a Polaris. Or is it Polaris trying to make everyone believe that it's a Bombardier. Are Polaris and Bombardier the next alliance? Arctic Cat tried to form an alliance with Polaris back in the 80's, but Polaris refused. We'll soon find out.

I can guarantee all of you it IS a Polaris. Talked to the dealer again today. He told me one would be on his floor mid August. The Dealer show in Florida will be held 7/29/02 - 8/3/02, the last week in July / first part of August. That's when they will do the official release.

As far as the rotax engine, don't know. If I wasn't builing a house right now, I would pick that thing up as soon as he gets it. Polaris has been great to me as far as customer support. Most of what you get depends on the dealer. If they have a good repor with the manufacturer, and "want" to help you, Polaris has A1 support.

"if polaris get the job done wich look to be so maybe the quadzilla will be dethroned."

Hey SCRAMBLERED,

No offense, but it will be a cold day in hell before a four stroke with todays technology will beat a high performance two stroke of the same displacement. I'm interested in the Predator too, but I don't believe that it will make the same top end of my Quadzilla. It may have better/smoother bottom and mid range, but the Quadzilla is notorious for having great overall power, even when stock. Hopefully they (Polaris) will not detune the crap out of it in production. By the way, I don't dislike Polaris, I in fact bought a 400 Sport for my wife and I enjoy riding it from time to time. Let's hope Polaris did this right. I like to see new competition, even though my ride is a dinosaur.

i got a question for VagasQuadracer- you said your wife has a 400 sport, i was just wondering if you've had any trouble with it?? my local mechanic has had a 1998 400 sport back 3 times, yes 3, for a new motor job. The water pump is located in a certian place where when the seal started leaking it will leak into the bottom end of the motor and ruin the whole motor. have you had any problems like this, or did you just get it??

If someone doesn't use the correct type, concentration, and maintain (periodically change) their coolant, this can happen. Also not paying attention to if the "hot" light should come on...indicator of possible cooling fan problems, common if a lot of deep water riding is done. Normally it's the seals on the counter-balancer that go, allowing the oil from the sump of the balancer to migrate. With normal maint., that's checking and changing fluids, the 400 bottom ends can easily last over 4000 miles. Mines an original 99 bottom end currently running 15.5:1 compression with no burps at all. Starts on the first pull every time.

The coolant problem is similar to if you never changed the oil on your Rincon (if that's what you have) then blaming oil sludging on Honda.

Rincon, there is no engine factory at Roseau, MN about 100 yards away from Polaris. You must have it mistaken by the plastics plant. There is an engine facory in Wisconson, Polaris has a deal with Fugi there and the engines are called Robin engines.
