Is the engine going to be powered by rotax. Biggerisbetter stated above that it is a rotax built engine. If that is the case it will probably have the same motor as the new bombardier. They are coming out with a new quad with 400-500cc to have a little brother to the ds650. They have rotax motors I believe, so the new polaris may be sharing its motor. With suzuki, kawa, arctic cat doing this with the z400 there will be very few choices to pick from, just different colors. I hope this is not the case.

me too, that is stupid, do you like green or yellow? kawi now has the mini quads that suzuki has, the 50, and the 80. the dirt bikes- DRZ400, and the new RM 85, 65, and 60 along with some other small motored bikes. They are the same except diferent colours, i hope the market doesn't all go this way, but i could handle the same engine in different quads, as long as chasis and everything else is different.

Well, here are my thoughts on my next quad.
Bombardier - sorry -- great power-- great company-- love Canada (my Ranger was assembled there)-- but the DS is too wide for most of Michigan's crappy narrow trails. It's great on Routes and in scramble areas but our DNR trails are so narrow that only my little Blaster gets down them without banging the rims into stumps. Stupid DNR joke of a trail system.
Honda 400EX--great transmission-- great aftermarket parts--poor air-cooled engine--lousy single OHC--expensive--rice burner
Suzuki Z400--rave reviews--good price--reverse gear--Dual OHC--4-valve--ugly yellow or white only--rice burner
Yamaha Raptor--great power--great looks--Dual OHC--5-valve--expensive--top heavy--rice burner
Polaris Predator--great looking--dual OHC--super new steering geometry--not available yet
Cannondale--sweet in every respect--Aluminum frame--fuel injected--nearest dealership 3 hours away down in Jackson, Michigan--too bad
I would definately buy one if we had a dealership nearby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe I should start one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am going to buy a new quad as soon as I can checkout the new Predator and compare prices.

Are you ready to RUMBLE!!!!!!! Ding, ding, here we go again. Rincon, you can't blame people for getting worked up when you rip on their favorite machine. Everyone has different likes and dislikes. Just go to a motorcycle show and start jumping from quad to quad, you'll find ones that fit nice, and some that don't. Everyone paint their houses the same color, everyone drive the same make and color of car....what a boring world it would be. Just go ride and enjoy.

rincon,
my bad. I was breezing through the thread trying to get past the lopsided BS and I caught your name in there and for some reason I thought you posted that. Duh, i didnt read it all the way through, sorry about that. You are correct, polarispower500 did come in here and say those things

thanks guys

anyways now that I am done with the apologies,
I really hope the new predator lives up to its hype, i do however wish that polaris would give us some info here. It is the mid-July and there is nothing new from Day-1 except that we KNOW its a Polaris. We have seen it and have speculation but when will someone come forward and give us some INFO!

michiganamn,
I dont know if you have taken a ride on a 'Dale or not, but I did have the pleasure of riding one. If I were in your spot, I would drive the 3 hours to get one... I seriously considered driving to see KnowsAlot ( he is around 3 hours from me ) and getting a Dale, but now a dealer moved to me town! When the money gets right, the Dale will be in the garage.
