NEW HPD POWER MAXX
#3
Sure, it is probably bad a$$, but you have to buy EVERYTHING in order for it to work, and that is about $2000.00 from what Mike at HPD has told me. Sounds like I would put my race mod wheeler on a alcohol diet first for a lot less money and get the same power. Just my opinion,Bubba

I agree with Bubba. I've seen the performance of this motor....it rips, but it won't be finding it's way onto my machine. If it was just a cylinder change, I'd be first in line. The new powervalved cylinder only makes 65hp with the old pipe (new race pipe).

they show us the new dyno chart with the power maxx 416 kit and it is clearly pictured at 85 hp+...
it is all a new kitower maxx cylinder, hpd variable exhaust valve,
billet head w/chamber,piston,pipe,custom v-force reed,intake manifold,case studs and o-ring kit,base gasket.
the new power valve cylinder look like exactly a snowmobile cylinder (like my 2000 xcr 800).
for sure those 380 fuji motor rips, but we now leading the need to get more clutch effiency system from polaris, hpd now offer the new TEAM secondary clutch with twin roller operating and a lot more clutch efficiency, this is a very great mod now available for 400 2 stroke atv.

Scramblered, I could be wrong, but I think you're missing the point. The new power-valved cyl is a custom billet piece....I got to examine the very first one. The dyno is at 85hp. What is being stated is that once everyone has the current HPD race porting/pipe setup, it really doesn't seem worth the ching to have to purchase the cylinder, head, pipe combo all over again. I'm not disputing this thing rips....I've been out at the shop for tests. If I had a stock 400 and was going to mod it, that's the way I'd go. Since it's a complete package...and I have a tease at what the price will be...my dollars are set at the dealer as #1 on the Xtreme waiting list aka Predator. If you don't have any porting done, I'd get the new cylinder. Personally, I have two race-ported jugs and the new pipe, and am VERY happy with them.

yeah sure it is a custom cylinder,my 400 scram is in trail mod only right now (too many broken crank with race mods),but i can't get the new cylinder cauz it is sold in kit only and can't fit in trail version (12.1 head).i'm happy now with my scram anyway, shaved about 100 pounds, extended swingarm, durablue axle, extended a-arm.....
so you're going to get the new 4 stroke quad, look very interesting but i'm awaiting a new 2 stroker.

the new kit is pretty cool and great for maxx performance, but as it is said earlier, this mod would be the best with a STOCK engine cauz you'll need to put it together only 1 time and be happy the rest of your life with 85+ hp at the crank,HPD rules!
