Brakes
#1
Hi all.
I recently flipped my Trailboss 325, and broke the master cylinder. I replaced it, and tried to bleed the brakes myself. Fronts bled fine, however, since I am not Inspector Gadget the rears were a little interesting. What I tried to do is pump the brakes, then when I got it fully pumped, I set the parking brake, ran to the back, and bled them that way. It seemed to work, but now It seems like I only have front brakes. Do you think it is because I didn't have someone helping me bleed the backs - or am I doing something wrong???
Also if they bleed correctly, should they automatically go back to the 60/40 combo??
Let me know!
Thanks

Tinkerman:
On the Trailboss - the "Front Brake" is actually a 60% Front / 40% Rear combination braking, so yes, you must bleed the rear brake with the hand lever. The foot lever, has a separate bleeder valve on the rear brakes.
Thanks!

You can buy a device that allows you to bleed the brakes by yourself. One of the mechanics I worked with had one. Can't remember the name of it, Sorry not much help. Kind of a little suction pump that you pull the fluid out with and then tighten the bleeder as your doing it.
