Does anyone have an idea about price on the 628 kit? I am probably call 4 stroke tech in a week but an idea might help the initial trauma. Thanx.

Does anyone run the RCR stage 1 kit? Does it make the same performance gains as HPD and HSP? RCR seems to be the least expensive but is it a good kit? Does HPD make a complete kit for the 500?

Hot Seat Performance makes a 500 speed kitwhich includes a HSP header pipe and silencer, K&N filter, and Hypershift clutch kit. This is supposed to bump it up 5-7 horse power. I highly doubt this will keep up with the DS650 though.

I called up HPD and RCR and the RCR kit was over $600 . The stage 1 kit for $329 must be for the 400. I think I will get the HPD pipe and silencer, HPD clutch kit (mildly aggressive) and a K&N air filter. HPD said that the pipe comes with card jets so I dont need to buy a power kit, just the filter. Does this sound like a good combo? Hpd said that the only way to gain top speed is to build up the engine like you guys mentioned. But this shoud give me more acceleration and throttle response right? How is the relialbility of the HPD mods. How does it affect belt wear? Are you guys satisfied with your HPD mods? Thanx

Actually a clutch kit improves belt wear because it reduces the slippage. You will benefit greatly from the improvement on the backshifting as well (the ability of the clutch to shift down while negotiating a hill etc.). And it helps acceleration. One of the best initial mods besides a pipe that you can do for your machine.Bubba
