Just got a 00 scram 500 4x4 and when i put it in awd the front drive shafts will spin, but not the tires. Talked to a dealer and he said to check the switch for dirt and for a broken wire to the front hubs. Did both to and found nothing wrong. Ordered a shop manual but wont get it for a week and I want to ride it NOW!! Any help or other things to look for would be great.

I would check your front hub fluid. The fluid should be right to the hole if you have the hole at 4:00.

Both wheels have electrical connections with plug-ins at the top of your nosepiece. Pull the plug-ins apart and get a 12volt tester and make sure you are getting power to them when the switch is on. If you're not take the switch apart and clean it with brake cleaner and a small brush. Even if the switch looks clean it may not be making good contact.

If you're getting power to the wheels, water mixed in with your fluid in the hubs will sometimes cause the AWD not to work. Too much or too little fluid will cause problems, make sure you have the right amount. Lastly, there is a magnetic coil mounted to the strut housing that can go bad, but its very unlikely that the coils on both sides would be bad.
