Hey talonhawk,,what bend did you go with on your handle bars and do you like them ???? also what size tires do you run ?
I'm running 21's on front and 20's on back which work really well most of the time unless I'm in some really rough woods going over trees and big rocks,,,,I have been high centered,,that really sucks,,,I actually broke my stock tires and wheels out to put on for this weekend as we might be doing some woods riding...and don't want to get made fun of for holding everyone up....having to get off and push the bike off of a tree...

Polaris69---thanks and glad you like it I'm not finished working on
it either. I still have to replace the struts and upgrade the springs
and lastly will be an extended swingarm and new axle.
2manytoys--- first--congrats on getting your TB running right.
When I first started on my project TB, I had a Hotseat
clutch kit and installed a pipe from a 400 sport. IT RAN GOOD but
didn't have any topend. I switch to the HPD trail pipe, it ran alot
better but still not real good topend. So now that I've switched to
all HPD stuff all I can say is-----watch out world because there is
a 99TB that has HPD's reed conversion and I'm the crazy s.o.b. that
has one.
I don't know what the topend is now because I don't have a
safe way or accurate way to measure the speed. I know that it is way
faster and when I can run a good distance its still pulling hard!
Spankylowe--- I've got 23's on the front and 22's on the rear. I had
one h=ll of a time getting the front beads to seal on the rims.
I think I had to use almost 60 lbs of air pressure to get one tire
to seal. I'm not sure what bend my bars have. The stock bar was one
of the first things to go and that was 3 years ago, but I do like the
way that these feel!
MODQUAD---at least you have a GIRLFRIEND that is patient. Wives are
not so patient! Hey!! you interested in a swop?
JUST KIDDING-----LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah, er, Talon, I don't think she'd go for that.....family show. hehe.
And for those of you just itching to see my quad, you can pic up a Dec 2001 issue of ATV Sport magazine...the coverage starts on page 56. Don't mean to sound snuffy, but until I get this cable for the digital camera worked out, that's gonna have to do. It kinda irritates me, cause all the shots of the Pred I took at the show are "locked" inside.

modquad,
I still have that issue. I save every one I get. Nice machine, yours was one the first black ones I ever seen. Cool to have one in a mag.
talonhawk,
I know what you mean about the front wheels coming out of the corners. Sometimes a little unpredictable. Alot of times, just not wanted.
I asked HPD if they would be willing to just weld the reed cage in mine or a full treatment. They refused to do anything to my 300. It's the only mod I really have left to do.
Does your machine run much hotter(temperature) than it did before the conversion? That's my biggest concern.
Nice ride.

I really don't know if it is running hotter or not. I have almost
all of the front fender plastic removed so I assume that I'm getting
alot better air flow around the engine.
A point of interest: Since I have 2 TB's I can compare them, stock
verse mob. My 99TB (reed conversion) gets better gas milage than the 00.
I have an internal fan installed in the intake tube of the PVT and it
runs about 5-8 degrees cooler than stock!
As for running hotter than stock, I have not noticed all the pinging
that the stock engine makes. It also takes a B9ES spark plug now!
