I had 1 problem with my 2000 sp500, the speedometer went after about 500 miles the machine was 1 year old, 6 monthes out of warranty, after a little, and I stress little whinning to my dealer they called Polaris and they went good for it, I couldn't believe it, all I had to do was pay for about 15 minutes of labor and Polaris covered the speedo that cost around $180.00, to go good for an electrical part 6 monthes out of warranty is top notch customer service in my book, Polaris does stand behind their products.

Hehehe, no wonder your pockets are MT! You know what you’re getting yourself into, or at least you have a pretty good idea. We’d better not see you bitchin’ about those new machines on this forum!

Those (few) of you who remember when I regularly contributed to this forum know I’m about as far from a Polaris basher as you can get. My disappointment in the company had to be vented. Call it constructive criticism, call it tough love, but it’s hardly bashing.

Hey Pockets, did that '03 come with an aluminum water pump cover??

keep the faith!

Fact: "for every ONE guy that HAS had a problem there are 100 that are having a TERRIFIC experience with their Polaris ATV"

BTW, i think it's just great the '03 Models have the seamless belt (5 times stronger now) and no DAMN grease fittings to fuss with on the IRS! less maintenance for me!

must pack now, leaving Sat AM.

-MT
