Well, I've gotta wait until Jan, (saving up $$) but I've picked out my new quad.

It's gonna be a Scrambler 500 4X4.

I've scoped 'em out now at a couple dealers, got a price, got the go-ahead from the better half, and now I'm saving my pennies.

I've been torn back and forth between a SP500 or a Z400, but then after sitting on the Scrammy, it was like "ooohhh yeah!!!!" this is the one!.

I just want to trail ride for fun. It'll be my first quad ever.

I can't wait. Can January get here sooner?

Yea good choice. Takes a little while to break in and then you will notice an improvement in gas milage and power.
I ride with raptors and have no problem keeping up. Granted I can't keep up on smooth flat ground, but with the riding we do that is rare. Their constantly getting high centered and stuck in mud, all I have to do is click in the AWD. kinda get splattered with mud, but hey, that the fun of it.
I mostly ride in 2WD until I need the 4WD, you get better fuel milage that way. Just make sure your rear tires aren't spinning when you click it in to 4WD. In 2WD drive you can spin the back end around like a sporty, and in 4WD you can almost go where the utilities go.
I'm thinking of getting Gators for mine as I want to keep the tire ratio so as to not screw up the AWD. That has to remain the same for the AWD to work properly.
Have fun and always wear a helmet.

I've owned both. You got a pretty rugged machine in mind that can take a beating. If you at all want performance, I would not get it though. The Z is just 100 times better in the open, dunes, trails, and sport riding. If you are going in the mud, the SC500 will be a lot better. In that case, a SP 500 would even be better.
What I'm trying to say that unless the terrain you are going to be riding it really rough or has a lot of mud, get a z400.

Hey thanks guys for the responses!!

BarelyLegal ; I can't go for all-performance really for two reasons. One, there is no where around here to open up any sport, and two, my riding skills SUCK. I wouldn't know what to do with all the performance, at least for now.

The clock seems to be ticking slower now.......

Looking forward to it!

It's a good ride. I like it, I'm building a track now though so i have to find a little project quad to build cuz i dont have the $$ and you cant do much with it on a race course. I still wouldnt trade it in cuz when winter comes I'm gonna be ripping through it watching the 2by's get stuck.
