So what is the outlander like? How is it compared to the sportsman? If I would buy another quad, I think that would be one of my choices.

thanks,
eric

Your buddy has an Outlander? I'm not trying to be a pain in the a$$ but no dealer I've talked to has one or knows exactly when they are coming in. The last word was sometime either in Oct or Nov. Got any pics? We've been thinking of getting one so any info would be helpful.

TG1...you will be happy with the Outlander. I went to the dealer/ride meeting in Reno 6 weeks ago and rode the Outlander. They had a couple of Polaris's and Yamadog's there to compare with. The pulling power of the Outlander is awsome compared to the others. Also, backing up a steep hill, the Polaris and the Yamaha stopped or just spun the tires half way up. The Outlander backed up the hill, came back down half way, and backed up again. And yes...they are not yet available.

P.S...the seat is the most comfortable thing you will ever sit on....

I could give u info though...

The outlander 400 is a awesome machine! it has better acceleration than the sp400, but in a long race the top speed is about 4 or 5 mph's slower than the sp400. we dragged them two on a mile long course and the sp400 pulled away from the outlander in about a 1/2 mile to go. then we tested them two on the trails and in the mud. Both machines are pretty much equal when it comes to the suspension. (both have independent rear suspension). In the catagorie on ground Clearance The Sp 400 has 2 more inches of it. Then it was off two the mud. In my back trails I have a huge mud pit thats about 3 feet deep. during a run the outlander stalled in the mud because its Air intake was under water. but after that there was no problems. But if you do get the outlander i would suggest getting better tires because there isnt much of a good trad pattern on them. Over all both machines performed very well, but the sp400 came through. We felt that it had moreover all power and tourqe, and the tires had a much more aggresive tread pattern.

good luck!

Polaris boy...#1...I too sell Bombardier ATV's...and the Outlander is NOT in my showroom yet (I wish it was), although 3 are pre-sold. #2...If I go off on you, you'll know it, so get your panties out of a bunch. #3...Grow up and learn how to spell. TG1...Your welcome. Good luck in your choice.
