If I were you I would get the new Xplorer400 and give the 300 to your son. I owned both...just traded my 300 for a Scrambler400. There is a 200% difference between them. It's really worth the expense. With a clutch kit and 26 inch mudrunners...nothing stops this bike...so far! Yesterday I went riding on some pretty nasty trails that were in the process of being washed out by 3 feet of rushing water. The Xplorer400 was the only bike to make it out of the 4 foot deep ruts...the Scram made it but the belt smoked a wee bit. Had to push and pull the others!
