I live in alaska and our polaris dealers are already getting stocked up. I was in there yesterday looking at the 600 pro x. The dealer bought artic cat so i checked out the firecat. Im so used to polaris that the ergos just didnt fit me. I think the firecat will need another season to be ready. It felt wrong to me. little rough around the edges.

I was in town two days ago and this guy offered to sell me a pro x 700 race sled from last year. Said it was the only one in the state. The race chassis are a little extreme for my aching bones. They are stripped down too. To save weight.

A pro-x 700 would be great if it were in the race chassis. The consumer pro-x sleds are only glorified trail sleds. I need something to take alot of abuse. I am very close to purchasing a new firecat myself, but like you have been riding a polaris my whole life. A fire cat is the same wheight as my 2002 pro-x 440 liquid but with 40 + hps. more. I cancelled the order on the new engine cause by the time a had it installed with pipes, race pak, etc. I was looking at approx. $6000.What should a guy do?

Sure would like to try a snowmobile sometime?!?!? I may go to MN this year with a friend from work to ride for a weekend. His brother has a new Polaris sled that will do 70 mph. Are the Polaris sleds as user friendly as the quads?

I was told Polaris is the #1 seller of sleds?

want something that take a lot of abuse??? the PRO-X line sleds (600-700-800) is race proven chassis that can take any abuses a normal trail cruisers will ever need, power? the domestic twin rips right from the box! but the firecat is pretty hot this year too,but as a all new model i'm not sure tough...

70 mph? i don't think polaris is making any sled that can only peak top speed at this right now...
they all run 100+.

I have a 144x2 in paddle track and they are not know for there top end because of track weight and friction losses. I got this thing to do 112 mph before I let off. I was riding down the middle of a street and was worried about cross traffic. It reached this velocity in a little over 1/4 mile. I was told by a racer that as much of 10% of the speed read is track spin. Not sure of the accuracy on that one though. Now before I get flamed I will say that I have only been able to reach 108 usually. I have over 6 grand in goodies on this sled but its not variable exhaust. I am contemplating purchasing the variable update for 1100 or a totally new crate motor at cost, which is about 2100. My riding partner wants my motor and offered a grand so I think the choice is easy. My riding partners best friends' parents own one of the biggest dealerships around. Im new to 4wheelin but sleddin is definitely my passion.
