I have a 97 scrambler 400 4x4 with a Mikuni 38mm TMX Carb. with a K&N air filter (air box removed). Winter is coming and I need to put the factory air-box back on to keep snow/water and such out. My problem is, the factory air box won't fit on carb intake. Is there any kind of adapter made for this I can buy somewhere?

Hmmmmm....mine had a 42mm carb and fit. The problem that I had was on the other end of the carb.

Give HPD or Ritter Cycle a call because when i received my 39 pwk carb it came with an aluminum adapter on the air filter side that would fit the air box.The adapter was pressed in the carb.Hope this helps.

 

HPD now mills the inlet down. Maybe call Hot Seat, since they're the ones that sell the 38. I know the 42 I bought from them had an adapter on it.....then again, they probably mill their's too...hehe..
You could also just get a water resistant Outerwear filter cover, they really work nice.

My 99 with AAEN kit is running a 42mm carb

It has an adapter to use the stock air box. They also sell the 38mm carb.

I am sure if you call AAEN they will set you up with what you need.
