reed spacers,here is the fact...

This is true of the newer Dodge Ram MPI intakes. Aftermarket companies shorten the manifold runners to give more mid to top end power. Hey...look! A productive thread!

I also had premature failure .I am running the reed spacer and the v force 2.With the reeds set on low tension ,i was was shredding the ends of the reeds very quick.I went to the high tension setting and my reeds are just showing signs of wear after 6 to 7 months.I also noticed with the spacer or without it i was still turning 7500 to 7900 rpms.Later.

Wait! Brain fade. I forgot that the SHO Taurus used the longer runners for torque and the shorter runners opened for high rpm power. I still have to say, though, my drag cars used (and with most high dollar intakes) a high rise intake manifold and they made power from 4000 rpms and up. I am going to trash my spacer, though and set reed tension uo a little.Bubba

Longer intake runners = more torque. Bubba, you should know that from your dealings with late model 302 Mustangs!
How are ya? I just bought a SP700. I'm picking it up tomorrow.

I guess the rubber boot would keep the carb cooled off to help with mixture density. No need to try and run a phenolic (plastic) spacer between the cylinder and carb like on the cars.Bubba

here is the response i got from MOTO TASSINARI (V-FORCE DELTA REED):
In most applications reed spacers do not help with our valve, unless it is
blocking a boost port or piston support is blocking the intake track. It
really depends on the application and engine mod's.
enough said?! it really a mood point where you need it and the gains you're looking for depending on track and conditions.
