I own a 03 700 with the old style water pump cover. So far (6 hrs) it does not leak.
I have ridden it very easy so far, does the leaking increase with time ?

Also, does the 4x4 work in reverse? I tried to engage on a slope and mine did not.......

Thanks all!

"does the leaking increase with time ?"- i think the old style will leak. tell your dealer you want the up-graded reinforced flat, fat, bracket and you will be all set after that.

"does the 4x4 work in reverse? I tried to engage on a slope and mine did not."- push and hold the yellow OVERRIDE button and that gives you 4X4 in reverse.

congrats on your new 700! what color?

Well my water pump cover started to leak after 200miles and most people I talk to, there water pump covers leak at differant mileage. As far as 4wd in reverse, you need to push the (Reverse OverRide Botton) its a yellow one on your left side when you are sitting on the ATV, Also when you push the OverRide Botton, watch out becasue it will go alot faster. Hope this helps.
Thanks

bought black. Wanted yellow but was told in 03 it does not come that way.
Push the button, huh, would have been welcome news today while I was pulling the rear end around. LOL!

pulling the rear around? your back must be feeling-it about now!
the black/silver looks TERRIFIC!
a hint on getting the scuffs out is to CAREFULLY use a small butane torch. it melts them right out! don't light the ATV on fire though. i've used it on the Spruce and black/sil and it does a good job.

BTW, did your dealer show you how to 'toggle' through the TRIP Odometer/SERVICE/HOUR METER functions??

no,
I did read about it in the owner manual (after I changed its setting while using).
Back is not too sore, I was too angry at the time. lol
