Like BubaHyde stated, its a big dollar item and will require alot of mechanical skills
on your part. The kit does come with all the parts needed but you will still need a
service manual to remove and install some parts. Its pricey, thats true and some
will say a waste of money but I don't see any difference from me modifying a TB to
beat or compete with stock to slightly modded 400's as it is for someone with a
400 to do the same thing to beat or compete with larger CC quads. I really just
had an itch to see how far I could take a TB and I'm still not done. Its lightening
in a bottle now. he he he!!!!! For whats its worth, since I had no previous
experience with Polaris ATV's, if I was to start over I would just buy a nice used
400 scram and go from there!
HPD is not the only place that has a Reed conversion. I can't remember the
other company. Perhaps X_SCRAMBLER or MODQUAD or someone else knows the
name because their kit works on any year TB and is cheaper.

To add to Talonhawk, the man's name is Dennis Shotwell out of AZ. He does the conversion for about $500 I believe. His e-mail address is ddjshotwell@qwest.net. Talonhawk, he sells an awesome torque strap that you might need on your wheeler to keep that motor in align. I hope this helps. Bubba

tb01,
The kit that talonhawk is referring to is the HPD race mod kit. It comes with everything. Very expensive. You can get a RCR stage 1 kit, send him the head to get ported and then get a reed cage from him and spend less than $600. Dennis Kirk has reed kits for $150 but they are almost usless without the pipe, clutch and porting. With all the mods i have, It is a sweet ride but i am going to do the reed kit and carb. A 35mm mikuni carb is $93 from Dennis Kirk. All i have invested in my bike is less than $600 and it is really quick. I paid 1600 for my 2000 Trailblazer and $600 in mods. $2200 for everything, Cant find a Scrambler for that cheap. The biggest thing is a little old 250 keeping up with the 400's. That kicks a$$!
