Default Newbie to polaris question about trailblazer

I have been doing some research about clutch kits and exhaust pipes and was wondering if I would get anything out of a clutch kit w/ out in exhaust mods. Im trying to get rid of that bog down low if anybody has any tips. Also who has the best price on a clutch kit, I have also heard of changing the primary spring??? What excactly is that this is my first automatic quad ever so cut me some slack.

I believe the trailblazer should have a blue/green primary spring in it. Guys with the 250's help me out if I am wrong. If it does, put the white primary in it and go if you want the inexpensive way out. A complete clutch kit would be much more fun to drive, though. Look to spend roughly $160. It would be a good investment. Bubba

Changing the primary spring will eliminate the lagg. You can get a Polaris white primary, or EPI red. Doing this and you will be able to wheelie. You can also get an agressive clutch kit from HPD, It costs $90 and will get better low end and quicker shift through the powerband. If you really want to be impressed get a Stage 1 kit from RCR.$325 for pipe, silencer, clutch kit, and air filter mod.The shipping is free. It is a complete kit that will do wonders for the Trailblazer. If you plan on just getting a clutch kit make sure it is with a company that makes the pipes to match incase you want to upgrade later. Trust me you will want to upgrade!!!

Is this true I dont really want to go into my engine right now but , it looks like I am goin to be savin up for the stage 1 kit. Does anyone have that I would like some info on that if possible.

I know people that are still running thier stock piston with mods and have had no problems. You just need to make sure the jetting is perfect. The stage 1 kit will make you happy.

Why did you sell the warrior and get a Trailblazer?

I sold my warrior b/c it needed alot of work done to it and I just dont have the 1000+ it was going to cost to fix it. Plus the trailblazer was free and personnally I like the way it feels alot more than the warrior. Now one last question, does anyone now where abouts my topend would be and how quick it would get there. I ride alot of open trails and flat land so the mid-range to top end is real important.

Warrior620,

Well, I'm glad it was free, because you won't get much out of it in the top end department. The slight bog on the bottom is because it is a piston port motor. This is to say the piston, not a set of reed valves keeps the fuel air mixture from coming back through the carb. It isn't as good a set up as reed valves, but has the benefit of being cheaper.

I've added a 34mm Mikuni VM34SS to mine along with a UFO (ultimate flow optimizer). The pipe is from RCR (Great guy!) and have added a 38 tooth back sprocket (stock 42 tooth). Let me put it this way, it's faster than it was stock, but nothing like my Sport.

Oh yes, BTW it still has the stock piston in it.
