700 belt slipping in high
I went riding today for about 4 hours, near the end I noticed that my take off in high gear was a little slow getting started. While climbing a small hill, it started to squell and the belt began to smoke, I shifted to low and had no problem getting up. I went back to high and could still notice a slight slipage on take off, but top end was fine. I was wondering if anyone else with the Aaen clutch kit has had this problem, maybe clutch tuning??? Not really sure! Please respond!!!!!!!!!

If it used the same PVT as a scrambler, I'd:
Clean and and re-test.
Add a dual helix (if you don't have one) and retest)
Add more seconday preload as needed (but only as needed, as I think preload costs power) and retest. If it quites shifting up the spring weight while maintaining curve.

I have the same problem with my 02, I checked & changed my trans fluid (it looked like grafite oil) there's no water in the belt housing. it didn't do this when it was new. Between the lag, the leaks, and a new rattle or noise evey time I ride it's driving me nuts! It;s only has 27 hours.

Dont most of the big bores have belts. Is it for towing capabilities? Ive only gotten my belt to slip once. I was in a deep quag in high gear with oversized tires and the clutches couldnt get the tires spinning in high. No problem whatsoever in low. Its a nasty hole. I have to crawl through it and I wear waders whenever I attempt it. And its getting deeper from me going through.

My Twin is a beast in low, nothing stops it,as a matter of fact I was screwing around one day and gunned in low and it jerked the front wheels off the ground (high off the ground) I almost Sh-t. I had seen pictures of the 650 Kawi doing but I figured the twin was too heavy, it's not. So don't gun them by accident going up hill. As for high range I think it's time to bring it to the dealer maybe it's a clutch problem.
