I am interested in buying a polaris Sportsman. I have found 2 that I am not sure about pricing.

2000 - Scratched from being riding but mechanically sound $4500.00 (from individual) What would be a fair price?
2002 - Dealer treade-in $4800.00 (Bought by dealers attorney) great shape.

The 2000 is a 500 and the 2002 is a 500 HO

 

There were a lot of up-grades to the 01 models and newer, I would take the 02.

I would have to say go with the 2002 but checking the condition of both not just cosmetically but also mechanically will be the safest way to deterimine which one you should buy.
