Question about 325 Magnum
#1
A friend of mine just got his wife a brand new 325 magnum 4x4 "Freedom Edition". It's a cool looking quad, actually looks bigger than my 650. Well last night she let me ride it a bit, it didn't have any power whatsoever. Is this normal? It sounds fine, has no sputter or hesitation but runs like its got a Yammi PW80 for an engine. Actually I think a PW would outrun it. I've heard these quads are slow but this thing is rediculous, it barely will even spin the tires in gravel let alone dig ditches. Is there something wrong with this quad? Does he need to take it to the dealer? It's his first 4x4 so he doesn't know what to expect and I must say it is the slowest thing I've ever put a leg over except maybe my old PW50 I had when I was like 5. To give you the best idea I can a Honda 300 would be smoking this quad in like 3rd gear.

How long does it take it to hit top speed? I only ran it for a 200 yard run at WOT but couldn't have been anywhere near that, maybe 30 mph tops. I know its no comparison but comparing it to my 650 there really has to be something wrong I can hit the 50s in 100 yards and 400 Kodiaks aren't far behind.

something may be wrong....however please remember, that anytime you go from a 650...to a 335...even for a few min. it's gonna seem real slow and underpowered.....a buddy got hie wife a 335,2wd and after riding my 500....thats a dog....however once ur used to it...it should be ok......good luck

The 325 Magnum WAS a dog. Slower than a 300 Honda as far as acceleration goes. If you hook them hitch to hitch, it will drag the HOnda all over the place, though. Top speed isn't all that high, and it takes a long time to get there. Heck of a worker for that size of engine, though.
The 330s are notably improved over the 325s.

The 325 is no speed deamon but you can ride all day long and not get tired. I have put Rawhides and C Series wheels on ours and it will mud with the best of them. Good choice for someone who does not care about speed just the enjoyment of riding. Power isn't everything. It was made to be a good trail machine.

A 325 Magnum was my first quad. We rode with some friends with Hondas. I was always behind, way behind, everyone. My friend's wife, a very, very large woman on an old TRX 300 Honda would smoke me, bad. I got tired of eating everyone's dust. 5 quads later I'm on a Baja. Now I am lead dog,,, when my son on his Raptor lets me, that is.

I bought my son a 325 Mossy Oak Mag in 00 it's a great machine. sometimes smaller is better the 325 is more fun than my 700 at times, espesially in the snow and mud in 2WD the 700 dosn't like to spin it gets a little tippy probably because of the tires and weight. We live in North Jersey (tight trails and big hard woods) the Mag goes through effortlessly with plenty of power and great steering, so you have to weigh out your needs. It's a real good starter machine and make a good hand me down to a kid or to get your Wife or girlfriend into the sport, and that way you have an exuse to buy the 700 eventually

I love my wife's 325. It does everything well. The power is adequate, and the little engine is torquey. No, it doesn't have much top end and it takes its time getting there, but it will go anywhere and is comfortable on long rides. It is also bulletproof. Mine takes all sorts of abuse and never complains. I think it is a great machine.
