Driven Clutch Buttons Broke Off

Default Driven Clutch Buttons Broke Off

Working on a buds 97 500 Sportsman and found one button lodged in the bottom or sheave and the other 2 buttons screws were broken too?????Will have to drill out screws MIG the holes in and re-tap as I already broke an easy-out off in one.Any opinions/experiences here???

Now might be the time to convert to a roller secondary.
Much more durable than the standard setup.
If you want to go with the standard type buttons, HPD makes some that are much stronger than the factory originals.

Default Driven Clutch Buttons Broke Off

I had this happen and I JB Welded the buttons in and it held till I found another secondary clutch.You can find them on ebay from $10-$50

Like Farmr123 said you can go with HPD's ss buttons.You have to drill thru the screw holes from the back side anyway ,if you go with the ss buttons.Hope this helps.I've been running these buttons for over a year on a race modded bike with no problems.Later.
