I was on a paved road so I opened up my 03 SP700 and it topped out at 50 mph. I thought they were suppose to do 72 mph, what does yours do?

Also sometimes when I hit full throttle especially from stop it doesn't feel like there is much power, almost like my old Kawasaki 300. Sometimes it is like a crotch rocket especially if I am moving when I hit it. Any ideas on this???? And now when I start it cold it won't run enough to back it out of the garage, new it never did this???

 

If it's an 03... carry it back to the dealer! Mine tops out a little over 70(67 stock). I also noticed the reverse problem especially backing out of the garage. Any more than half throttle and it starts spitting and sputtering, still don't know why. When you are taking off I assume your in high range... check inside your clutch cover, I found oily gunk inside of mine! Clean it good, Just a thought

So I gotta ask: why do most (according to other forums) go 70 mph and 2 will only do 50 mph????

 

Maybe my speedo is wrong, but after i top out, i'm ahead of my friends 400ex(i have to catch up though)!

 

My brothers full time 4x 350 forman will almost do 50. My bike is much faster. i web you got a wednesday bike Id fight with them till they get it dialed in. thats what warranties are for. Fight em man.

warranty work request: "customer states ATV will not do 70mph like his friends does"
i wonder how the dealer will be able to verify that complaint w/o breaking the law driving on a paved road!
i also wonder what Polaris's recommended 'fix' is. and what the labor op code would be so the dealer can get reimbursed for the mechanics time?

I have an 02 sp700 and mine will peg the speedo plus some. It even did it with me (210 lbs) and my brother-in-law (195 lbs) on it on gravel roads.

 

Sounds like I need to change the way I tell the dealer the machine needs help and also sounds like it has some problems based on your input of what other 700's will do. I am going riding with a friend on Sat. that has a 400 Scrambler so maybe he can ride mine and give some input.
