Its about time for my first oil change/service and in looking in my book it looks like all I need is an oil/filter change? Is this right or is there more?

When I had it in for work at 30 miles the dealer wanted to sell me a service for $350 that included adjusting the valves. Now I thought that these had hydraulic and did not ever need adjusting??

When we sell a new machine, it comes with the first service free. We change all the fluids except the cooling fluid and brake fluid. This same service would cost you around $100. No, your valves do not need adjusted. $350, thats nuts.

 

The dealer that I purchased from has always included the first inspection/service, no charge. I agree, $350 is a rip off. Find another dealer who at least knows that they don't need valve adjustment.

 

Yep, same dealer that "fixed" my leaking water pump that still leaks and told me all the other problems were normal just ride it till it breaks. The dealer that I bought from is over 200 miles away but I will call him tomorrow and if the first service is free I will take another day off work and go see him. Also I see on the Polaris website that they give out $250 in free merchandise with every quad but I was not told about this, is this up to the dealer who I assume kept it? Thanks.

 

I am not really sure how Polaris deceides who gets what, when it comes to promotions. I am from Montreal, Canada when I enter my postal code in the link below it says I have the choice of 0% financing or a warn 2000 winch (I chose the warn) Enter your zip and see what it says. At least now you will have some ammo if you need to chew out your dealer.
